Hail report FAQ

Straight answers about what HailBrief includes, how delivery works, and what the report should not be used to claim.

What is a HailBrief hail report?

A HailBrief report is an address-specific hail history document. It assembles NOAA radar indicators and public ground observations into a PDF for one property.

What does address-specific mean?

The report is run at the selected property pin, then compares evidence at the address and nearby distance bands instead of relying only on city-level storm summaries.

What data sources are used?

Reports use NOAA MRMS radar, NOAA Storm Events, SPC storm reports, NWS Local Storm Reports, and CoCoRaHS volunteer hailpad measurements where available.

How fast is delivery?

Most reports are generated after checkout and emailed as a print-ready PDF in under a minute. Delivery can depend on geocoding, weather-data availability, and third-party services.

Can I review a specific date of loss?

Yes. Entering a date of loss lets the report add a written finding for that date, including radar-estimated size at the property and nearby ground confirmation when available.

Is this a coverage, causation, or damage determination?

No. HailBrief is a weather-history report. It does not determine insurance coverage, causation, damage, repair scope, replacement cost, or legal obligations.

Is this a meteorologist-certified forensic report?

No. HailBrief is an automated weather-history report. It is useful claim-file documentation, but it is not an expert certification or sworn meteorological opinion.

What if no hail is found?

The report reflects the available evidence. It will not invent unsupported hail dates. If a paid report cannot be generated at all, we refund that order under the Terms.

Can I download reports later?

Yes. Create or sign into a free account using the same email address used at checkout, and your paid reports are saved for re-download.
